Lettres Ornées Brute Print Series
These letters are rescued from a huge old advertising cut from the Pollack Printing from Buffalo NY, who went out of business in 1997. It was from part of a poster for a birthday sale for Grants Department Store, who went out of business in 1976. While not as elegant as the original French letters, these 10" glyphs are clearly based on a font commonly known as Lettres Ornées (ca. 1820) attributed to Joseph Gillé. Guest printed by James Grieshaber. Perfect for people named AL or anyone who lives in Los Angeles!
