The Dry Dock™ Print drying hanger is based on the same principle as the British overhead marble drying racks. These can be seen as lengths of lumber with cut gaps to allow a glass marble to raise slightly and grip the paper when it starts to drop from gravity.

This 3-D printed variation was designed by Johnathan Kegler. After a few prototype tests, we have come up with what we feel is a great solution to the ongoing issue of where to put prints while they dry.

Made with high-impact PLA, these paper hangers give a solid grip on even heavy sheets of paper without any pinch impression into the paper. As individual units rather than pre-cut holes, the Dry Dock™ allows you to space units out as tightly or loosely as you see fit. They can be mounted to a 2x4 (or 2x2 as shown) with the supplied screws, or they can be secured directly to the ceiling joists of a basement or open beam workshop. Each unit can hold two large pieces of paper (back to back) with surprising grip and then easily released with an upward push of the marble.

These are available as individual units (each unit includes one Dry Dock™, One marble and two screws for mounting - size approx 1.75" x 1.75" x 2") or in sets of 12 (12 units take up about 19.5 linear inches)

SECONDS: 3-D printing can be tricky so things don't always go according to plan. "Seconds" are hangers that mismatched colors or some other glitch that happened while printing. They may not look perfect, but they function just fine.

STL FILES FOR 3_D PRINTING ON YOUR OWN!
The .stl files are now available for 3-D printing your own Dry Dock paper hangers! The license purchase for the .stl is for your own studio use. You may print as many as you like for your own use, however: (These files are not Open Source and are not to be shared, sold, or otherwise given to another party. Resulting 3-D objects printed are for your own use and not to be resold)

The download includes the .stl file only. You will have to source your own (1") marble and (#6 - 1" sheet metal) screws to mount and make the Dry Dock units fully functional.
