This one-day workshop will focus on the Dry Rotary Angle Chase and its possible use as a letterpress tool. Each participant will be guided through using the Angle Chase (in 3 sizes) to make "Letterpress Spirographs". Instructor Richard Kegler will give an overview of the development of the Angl;e Chase as an idea through prototypes and eventually commercial production of this unique plastic modular type.
This workshop will be held using two flat bed cylinder presses: Our Vandercook Universal III AB P (included an automated carriage and paper delivery system) and our Reprex #2
Participants should be located in the Rochester NY area for the days of the workshop. Accommodations cannot be provided but suggestions and moderate assistance in locating accommodations will be provided as needed. Workshops will take place in the Historic Talman Building at 25 E. Main St. Rochester NY 14614.
No experience is required and the basics of letterpress printing will be covered in this workshop. Depending on the experience level of participants, this portion of the workshop will be adjusted to optimize work time. All materials for workshop will be provided
