This print edition was created using partial large wood type blocks and found letterpress materials. The overlay intent is to obscure any literal reading of the letters as words and rather present a study in color and form. This is from an ongoing series of prints which use vintage letterpress printing blocks as raw material for relief prints with a modernist approach. Imperfections in the blocks from close to a century of use and their inherent woodgrain add to the depth and composition.
